Brisbane Writers Festival brings tens of thousands of readers together with the writers who inspire them. It also brings writers together, and gives them opportunities to mix with and learn from industry professionals.
For several years now, the Society of Editors has put forward one of its members to present a workshop on editing at BWF, and this year it’s my privilege to be presenting again. See details below.
Over half the Festival's events are free: writer talks, book readings and feature events guaranteed to stir your senses and provoke debate. At the end of the day, relax in the Pineapple Lounge and enjoy singer-songwriters over a glass of wine or a cocktail.
BWF Workshop: Editing; What? Where? How?
Demystify the editorial process. Analyse writing that works. Follow a stream-of-consciousness demonstration edit by experienced and accredited editor, Helena Bond. Edit text in a group with real-time guidance on your choices and tease out the key points about editing to take home.
