Accreditation for Australian editors
I’ve just become one of Australia’s first Accredited Editors!
It’s an exciting time to be an editor in Australia. Over the past few years the Societies of Editors in Australia have been collaborating to increase professionalism in our industry. Accreditation is the latest feather in our caps.
To explore the accreditation scheme, visit the website of our national body – The Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd). I’m proud to be one of the first cohort to sit the demanding exam and gain nationally recognised accreditation as a copy editor.
I believe this is an important step forward for editing in Australia. Accreditation guarantees a certain level of competence and helps people to choose an editor with greater confidence.
